We were very busy in weeks leading up to winter break. So busy that I didn't get a chance to take hardly any pictures.
Ceramic Ornaments/Pendants
Week 1:
Students learned how to roll out a slab of clay to the correct thickness (about the width of your pinky) and used cookie cutter stencils to create different shapes. Students then wrote their initials on the back and poked a hole through their clay. They were encouraged to carve lines and textures into the clay to make it their own.
The students' work was bisque fired over course of the week.
Week 2:
This week, students glazed their work. We learned the correct glazing rules in ceramics, such as not glazing the bottom or mixing glazes.
The students' work was glaze fired over the course of the week.
Week 3:
On the final day, students were able to string their pieces, bag them up, and take them home. They looked great!
